For Milaad, music is ..no numbers game... It's about passion, expression, uniqueness and art. Currently, Milaad is working on releasing his debut album titled ..Golmora.., which he's been recording in studios around North America, from San Francisco to Toronto. This being his first Album, he has been collaborating closely with one of Afghanistan..s prominent producer, song writer and composer Vaheed Kaacemy as well as producer and recording engineer S. Rahad at Zarb Music Studios. But Milaad admits it was never an easy task, as this was his first release. When an artist must keep his standards high, making good music is always a challenge. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, Milaad grew up immersed in three cultures -- Afghan, Indian and American. His passion for music began in an early stage of his life. At age 4, he was already rehearsing with his uncle Omar Akbar who is very dear to him, learning the basic theories of traditional Afghan music. His biggest inspiration came from listening to the songs of one of Afghanistan..s renown and greatest singers Ahmed Zahir. It was at this point that Milaad realized how Ahmed Zahir was so profoundly bringing the music of the East and West together through his unique style of music. In 1986, Milaad left Afghanistan due to the invasion of communist and went to India. His uncle Omar, once again helped him get a step closer to accomplishing his musical goal in life by teaching him how to play the Harmonium. Aside from his regular education, he was enrolled in the prestigious music institute of Shreeram Baharty Chandra in New Delhi. Under the direction of his Ustad (Master), he quickly learned the diverse dynamics of the Indian music and was soon able to fuse that knowledge into the traditional pop Afghan music. He continued his musical education until 1992 and then moved to New York. Milaad attended City University of New York and obtained his degree in Business Management. This allowed him to become a successful entrepreneur when he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997. Milaad has always strived to be unique in his own way by studying different cultures closely and learning as much as he can from music styles created and played all around the world. His dream and focus in life is to one day be able to touch and enrich everyone..s life around the globe in a positive way through his music.
