Fawad Roshaan, born in Kabul, Afghanistan developed a passion for music at an early age. His mother played random Afghan songs to help him fall asleep. Interestingly, listening to music before sleep progressed into a nightly bedtime tradition. Not long before soon, Fawad was seven when he moved into the U.S. As he began to mature, he became immersed in his daily life and responsibilities. Then suddenly at sixteen years old, he found a new love for music in general, music of all genres. Which lead him to buy his first small keyboard from a garage sale, and so his hobby evolved into a habit. Often imitating Ahmad Zahir songs while playing them along with the song. At twenty, is when his composing and writing songs began. During this era of his life, Fawad noticed all the differenes of the music in the world. He was determined to create and introduce a new style of music to the people of Afghanistan. Soon enough he became well known for his composing talent and his fervor for the art of singing itself. In 1998, he released his first amateur album. The results were outstanding, yet Fawad was too caught up in the struggle of supporting himself and his family in Pakistan to go further in his music career. Although he refused to surrender his love for music, so by 2004 he released his second amateur album. At this point in his career, Fawad became known for his authentic style and persona. His hip, humble, and passionate character quickly helped him become loved, not only as a musician but also as a person. Beloved fans, friends and family members helped motivate Fawad in realeasing his first official album. Consntantly over-hearing conversations of people talking on the subject of Afghanistan's music and it's slow evolution, is what ultimately insipired Fawad to originate an unorthodox style of Afghan music. Despite the constant doubts and criticism he faced, he ran through the negativity with ease while staying dedicated to bringing something new to to the ears of his belovd Afghans; something for the new generation. A music that is not specific to any certain community or genre, but a style that will be embraced by people of all walks of life. Editor -FMR Records.
