  • Jawid Sharif is a sensational Afghan music star currently living in Germany. Jawid Sharif started his musical career at an early age of 5 under the tutelage of his uncle Habib Sharif. During his early days in Afghanistan as an young adult he recorded various musical performances for radio Afghanistan.

    Jawid Sharif is an engineer by profession. Unfortunately due to deteriorating security in Afghanistan, he had to fled the country and seek asylum in Germany in 1996. While in Germany, Jawid Sharif embarked on his musical career once again. He has recorded several musical hits. He launched his first album in 1999 under the title "Shorbat e Shanieta" and in 2001 released his second CD titled Noor. In 2002 and in 2004 he released Dance Night and Kahkashaan, which were both hits amongst Afghans. The song that made Jawid Sharif an instant celebrity was his own version of Qataghani. According to Jawid Jan, he was driving home one day and he was thinking of some beats for his Qataghani and that is when he came up with 'Amelai Gardan'. Awaleen Deedar and Kahkashaan DVD were launched in 2006 and in 2009 Jawid Sharif released his Kankaash music album.

    Jawid Sharif is highly respected amongst Afghans. He has won numerous national and international awards for his musical prowess. Much to everyone's anticipation, Jawid Sharif was invited by the Bayat Foundation to perform on Ariana TV while visiting Afghanistan. His music is always loved and admired by Afghan music lovers.
