Biography:
AUSTIN — HOMETOWN:
I grew up in Afghanistan, moved to Pakistan and then Germany. After years of trying to get to the US, we finally made it here.

I was the first in my family to go to college. After spending two years at a community college in Plano, I graduated with a Journalism degree from:
FIRST JOB:
KZTV CBS in Corpus Christi. I spent about three years there and I loved the people and station. I was a reporter and then anchor. The station went through a lot of changes during the time I was there. It was one of the few family owned stations and they treated you like family.
PREVIOUS TV JOBS:
I did several internships in Austin and Dallas. A few were paid so they count as jobs … right?
MOST MEMORABLE STORY:
One of our photographers, Tim Holcomb, and I spent seven days in Afghanistan embedded with the Texas National Guard. It was my first time back in 20 years. I was so grateful to be there, but sad to see how much things have changed. We got to meet up with family, see my old school and report on a side of Afghanistan and its people that I wasn’t seeing covered anywhere else.

I have really been into American Idol this past year. It took me a while, but now I’m a total addict.

Home Slice Pizza. The pizza is so good.

Anywhere with a beach. I recently got to check out Canada and Las Vegas. I love to travel so I would go anywhere. I would love to go to Greece, Italy and Hawaii sometime.

I would just like to comment on Walter’s post. I don’t know if she’s a good anchor or not but I know for sure from the picture I’m seeing she’s definateley beautiful!
