Ishaq Shahryar - Afghan Scientist
To describe his Excellency, former Afghan ambassador to the U.S., Ishaq Shahryar, one needs ample space
and time to pen down a few thoughts. From being a devoted scientist to a keen entrepreneur, Ishaq Shahryar, is an Afghan legend who has touched lives worldwide. His ground-breaking discoveries in the field of Solar Panel technology, has aptly earned him the nickname “Sun King”.
In the 1970’s, when the U.S. government was seeking an alternative means of Energy, Solar power was the most promising. Although solar energy had been previously used in several space missions, its terrestrial use was met with limited success. Equipped with expert knowledge and credentials in the field of Physical Chemistry, Ishaq Shahryar was hired by Hughes Aircraft to design the next age Solar panels that could meet the necessary criteria of being efficient at a low cost. Having spent several years at NASA developing solar panels that were used in many manned and unmanned space flights such as Apollo 11 mission, Shahryar’s expertise in the field of Solar panels was the necessary ingredient to help his team of scientists invent the so-called “Silicon based alkali itched solar wafers”, which are still extensively used worldwide.

I would also like to know how to contact Ishaq. He encouraged me to become the secretary for the international relations organization at UCSB for the 1967/68 school year. I’d like to thank him for his encouragement and to congratulate him on his successes. My name at that time was Carol Hicks.

Herr Ishaq S.lebte in Los Angles ,vor kurzem etwa 5 Monaten ist er Leider gestorben,er hat Frau und Kiner und drei Brudern alle leben in California.Wenn ,Sie intresse haben kann ich Ihnen Tel.und Adresse geben.Ishaq war vor 5 Jahren als Stellvert.der afghanischer Botschaft für 1 Jahr in Waschinton DC Tätig und am schluss hat er in seiner Eigene Firma gearbeitet.
